Beloved husband, dad, and papa, John William Thomley, Jr. passed away at his home on May 1, 2017. John was born December 1, 1939 to J.W., Sr. and Myra Fowler Thomley, and was a lifelong resident of Coushatta, Louisiana. He followed in his dad's footsteps as an ironworker and was a member of the Ironworker's Local Union 591. He enjoyed pointing out many projects he helped to construct in the area including the Barksdale Bridge and Willamette Industries in Campti, La., Kingsport, Tenn., Bennettsville, S.C., and Johnsonburg, Penn. His CB handle back in the day was "Ironman". He also served in the Air Force Reserve.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wanda Starnes Thomley; daughter, Jessica Thomley Bellina (Jerred) of Pearland, Tx.; cherished grandchildren, Jaden, Hannah, and his namesake Bennett John, loving sisters, Pam Jones of Bossier City and Annette McWilliams of Coushatta, many supportive nieces and nephews, and special "bud" Robert Hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Harry C. Thomley, all of Coushatta.
A family memorial service will be planned at a later date.
