John Howard Scott
May 9 th, 1960 - February 25 th , 2022
After a long, courageous 4 year battle with prostate cancer, John left his earthly home to be with his Heavenly father at 4:03 AM. He fought hard until the very end just like the tough man he was and went peacefully to be with Jesus with his loved ones by his side.
John was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Mattie Ruth Hicks and John Scott Sr. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepmother Stella Scott, step-sister Pam Norcross, brother-in-law Raymond Hunt, and niece Kimberly Hunt-Bickham.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Kayla Scott, daughter Anne Marie and Brad Byrd, his son John Paul Scott, grandchildren Bradyn and Paisley Byrd; his sister Deborah and Bo Johnson, brothers Robert and Theresa Hunt, Paul Hunt, Don and Denise Hunt, and Gerald Hunt, nieces Stephanie Hunt-Wynn, Stacey Stewart, step nieces Stephanie and Meagan, nieces Lindsey and Jason Bloxom, Christy Hunt, Chelsea and Daniele, nephews Daniel and Dustin Hunt and great-nephews Matthew Stewart, Austin, Brennon and Grayson Bloxom.
John had many pastimes, he loved to watch his grandchildren play and excel in the many sports they play, watching his son play live music, he loved long drives in the country on his Harley Davidson with his wife and son riding with him. John was a family man and also enjoyed weekends grilling on the patio with his family and friends in the pool. If you knew him, you loved him; his infectious cheeky grin and laugh could light up any room, and he knew how to have a good time. He will be missed by numerous family and friends of which he created close bonds with and loved like no other.
"Life isn't meant to be lived perfectly…but merely to be LIVED. Boldly, wildly, beautifully, uncertainly, imperfectly, magically LIVED."
