John H. Pistorius, Sr. peacefully passed away at home on July 8, 2023, at the age of 84.  Born on June 27, 1939, John was the son of Nellie Pistorius (Beckham) and Joseph Henry Pistorius, Sr.

John graduated from Fair Park High School in 1958. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a major in Accounting from Louisiana Tech in 1962 and became a CPA.  John worked as the Controller for the City of Shreveport, LA for over 20 years.

John's favorite pastimes was attending the horse races at Louisiana Downs as well as his numerous trips to the Atlantis in the Bahamas.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Lisa; daughter Jayne Ann Sexton (Rod); son John H. Pistorius, Jr. (Sonya); grandchildren Ashley (Alex) and Kaylee; great-granddaughter Ella; brother Joseph H. Pistorius, Jr. and lifelong friends Robert Gatti and John Beckett.

A graveside service will be held at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Ave. at 11:00 A.M Thursday July 13, 2023.
