John Wayne Hays, Jr. "Daddy"

John was born September 7, 1968 to Wayne and Mary Hays. The Lord took him by the hand and led him home on May 14, 2018.

John was a wonderful father, poppie, brother, son, cousin, uncle, friend, co-worker, and many others. His favorite thing to do was to weld, hunt, fish, and spend time with his family. He had a way of touching everybody and had a special love for his three grandchildren (bad boy and the twinkies, as he called them). Oh, and boy was he a "ladies man"!! John was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

John was preceded in death by his infant son Dalton Hays, "Pappy" William Hays, grandmother Pinky Hays, grandfather James Cook, grandmother Francis Cook, and brother-in-law Kenneth Sewell.

John is survived by his children, Greg Canterbury, Colton Hays, Lacey Hays, Raegen Williamson, Dugen Hays; mother and father Wayne and Mary Hays; grandmother Doris Boutwell; grandkids Blayne Pardee, Maverick Hays, Makenna Hays; three sisters Joanne Weeler, Susan Sewell, and Rhonda Webb. Also surviving are a host of cousins, nieces, nepehews, and many friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2pm Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Castor, LA with interment to follow at Hand Cemetery. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Castor from 5-8pm on Friday, May 18, 2018.
