John Harper was granted his angel wings on May 18th, 2024.  His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that John has touched in some small way throughout his short, yet very memorable life.

John's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.

John married Amy Nicole Harper on September 26, 1999. The two were each other's lifelong companions and friends.  They were blessed with two beautiful girls: Kaitlyn and Taylor.

John fought his battle with ALS for seven long years.  Despite this disease, he never lost his sense of humor.  Throughout his journey, he cracked jokes, pulled pranks, sent silly-faced snapchats, and crazy Tik Toks that made us laugh.  He had the ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be missed.

John Harper isn't just a husband and father; he's the heart of his family. His love and enthusiasm for life create a sense of wonder and security, making him an amazing pillar of support. Infused with faith, John Harper finds strength and purpose in his devotion to the Lord.

John is survived by his loving wife, Amy Harper; daughters Kaitlyn Harper and Taylor Harper; mother, Kay Harper Burtchett and spouse, Rex Burtchett; sisters Kayla Harper and Christie Andell and spouse Aaron Andell; mother-in-law Tammy Young; father-in-law Scott Young; sister-in-law Tess Young; nieces Jhordin Andell, Addison Andell and Kaylee Harper, nephews Chance Andell and Brody Laroche.

He was predeceased by his loving father John Harper Sr., grandmother, Delores Harper and grandfather, Dan Harper.

Memorial service Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Aulds Funeral Home in Shreveport.  A Celebration of Life will be at the Harper's home on June 8, 2024, details TBA.
