John Garner passed on Saturday, March 20, 2021 after a valiant battle with pneumonia following an accident causing a broken hip and hip replacement surgery. John is survived by his partner and best friend, Fran Evans; one daughter Lisa O'Donnell; sister Jennifer Gallien; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren as well as one niece, two nephews, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Clarice Garner; father JE Garner, Sr.; brother Roger Garner; son Cody Mauldin Garner.

Visitation only is planned in Shreveport on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 5-7pm at Aulds Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 1pm Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Montgomery, Louisiana with Rev. Chad James officiating.

This is a man who never complained through his many ailments. He always wanted to do more than his body would allow. He would do anything for others. He loved his Lord and lived his life as an example of what we should all model.
