John Richard Burwell Jr., March 31, 1959 – October 30, 2024

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of John Richard Burwell Jr. – or better known as "Canada" in his adopted Louisiana.

Rick was a character that you never forgot once you met him!  He was a kind human with a big heart and joy for life.  Nothing made him happier than fishing, riding his Harley or tormenting someone he knew!  The amount of well wishes and support we have received from his numerous friends in Canada and the U.S. has been overwhelming and heartwarming.

He is predeceased by his father John Richard Burwell Sr. in 2008.  He will be missed sorely by his mother Shirley Darlene Burwell of Port Stanley, Ontario.  His siblings Robyn (Burwell) Bear & Brett of Port Stanley, Ontario; Tammy (Burwell) Cochois & Dave of Tecumseh, Ontario; his daughter Stephanie (Burwell) Prevost & Patrick of British Columbia BC, and his sweet granddaughter's Sophie & his niece MacKenzie.  To his numerous friends in Bossier City – Shean, Sherry, Randy, Rhonda, Hayden and the Slaughter family – our eternal gratitude for your help and support through this terrible time.  Many thanks to the Doctors and nurses at Willis-Knighton for your attempts to save him.

RIP in peace Rick – we will miss you forever.  I'm sure you're having a good time up there with all your buddies.  With love from your family.
