John was born December 26, 1937 to Early Herman and Jessie Mae Whitehead Bruner. At the time of his death, July 15, 2021, he was 83 years old.

John served in the Marine Corp. He also worked hard in the insurance field to support his family, working his way to Branch Manager.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Early and Jessie Bruner, and his first wife, Mary Ann Hinson Bruner.

He is survived by: his sister, Margaret Jean Myers, multiple cousins and their families.

His daughter,  Sherri Lee Bruner  Preston (Husband:  Orlando  Preston), 3 grandchildren: Mindi Chassion, Jacob  Khan and Orlando Preston; and  great grandchildren Summer and Harmony Khan.

His second wife, Melonie Bruner.

John was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses  on October 15, 1972and he died faithfully serving his God, Jehovah.

He spent hours sharing the good news of God's Kingdom until Alzheimer's disease  shut him down.

He has been missed and will continue to be missed by many.
