John Erskine Broyles passed away on April 13, 2022. A private memorial service will be held in Couch Chapel at First United Methodist Church on Friday, April 22, at 10:00 am.

John Erskine Broyles was born on June 9, 1946, in Shreveport, to parents Harvey and Alberta Broyles. John is survived by his wife of almost 30 years, Susan Broyles, and his children Beth Millard (Kory), Melanie Sims (Abe), Rebecca Juillerat (Bob), Chad Blaylock (Tiffany), Reagan Blaylock (Monique), and Brooke Blaylock. John is also survived by his grandchildren Molly, Jacob, Ella, Emi, Abby, Jackson, Hallie, James, Anna, Asa, Lily, Madison and Annie Sutton. John's brother Allen Broyles (Candy) and sister Joyce Hawkins (Ken) survive him as well.

John was a former oil and gas landman. He loved to be outdoors fishing, hunting and traveling. John was a gentle, caring man who was quick to smile and enjoyed conversations with friends and strangers alike.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be sent to First Baptist Church School, First Methodist Church, or AA. His family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Willow Ridge and Regional Hospice Caregivers.
