Ringgold, LA - John W. Barnett, age 87, passed away October 11, 2015. He was born August 28, 1928 in Isola, MS to Jasper W. Barnett and Mamie Jane Miller. Dr. Barnett was a retired minister, a retired TSGT USAF, pastored many churches, recognized in Who's Who, and graduated from William Carey College in Mississippi and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and received his Doctorate in Theology in 1983. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Frances L. Barnett, and sons Norman, Alton Ray, and Arthur Barnett. He is survived by daughter Dorothy Adcock; two sons James and Michael; grandchildren Douglas, Carrie, Amy, Scott, Austin, Aric, Katherine, Faith, Hope, and 8 great-grandchildren. Services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Springhill Baptist Church in Ringgold, LA with Rev. Billy Davis officiating. Visitation will start at 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Springhill Cemetery.
