March 17, 1969 – January 27, 2024
Joel Spencer Buttitta was born on March 17,1969 in West Monroe, La to his proud parents Jack and Pam Buttitta.
He gave his life to Jesus at a very young age. Joey attended many schools as he grew up in a military home. Upon completing school in Haughton, La he immediately joined the United States Army and was sent overseas to Germany. He was a proud Army Veteran.
Coming back home to Louisiana he started several businesses with the most successful being Built to Last Buildings. He could build anything he put his mind to and like Jesus, he was a carpenter. He then went to school and became a licensed catastrophe insurance adjuster, and traveled all around the United States in that profession.
In 1994 Marissa Brittney was born to him and his wife Tammy. She was the apple of his eye. She married Christopher Killian, and together they have two beautiful daughters, Thea and Rory Killian. Chris serves in the U.S. Air Force and they presently reside in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
He recently met and fell in love with Rebecca Henson. They married on June 24, 2023 and were currently building a home in Gilmer, Tx.
Joey devoted himself to helping anyone who needed help with anything at a moments of notice. Love of his family was his greatest joy. He was goofy, creative, playful and all around a fun person to be with.
Joey was met in Heaven by his father, Jack E. Buttitta.
Left to cherish his memory is wife, Rebecca Buttitta, mother Pam Buttitta, daughter Marissa and husband Chris Killian, two granddaughters Thea and Rory Killian; Two sisters Natalie and husband Danny Raines, and Sarah Buttitta.
