Graveside services for Mr. Joe S. Brown, Sr., age 81, of Haughton, LA will be held Wednesday, October 13 at 1:00 pm. This will be at the Haughton Cemetery off 157, next to the railroad tracks.

Joe was married to his loving wife Lucille Cathey Brown for 64 years. He is survived by her and his sons, Joey, Mike, and Denny and their spouses, daughter, Deborah Brown. He is also survived by a sister Margaret Ann Carr of Galveston, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.

Joe had a host of Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren that he treasured.

He was preceded in death by many loved ones, including his youngest son, Stevie Brown.

Joe was a boilermaker by trade and a hard-working family man. He was beloved by many, respected, and was a good, generous man. He loved watching his grandkids play, wildlife, visits, talks, debates, and fantasy football. He also loved playing his guitar, singing, and driving his tractor. He loved fresh peaches, a good hamburger, sunrises and sunsets, but most of all he loved Lucille.

His dream was to have a place that he and the love of his life could live their golden years together on a beautiful piece of land. He wanted to be surrounded by his family. He said he was blessed because his dream came true and he was full of joy, rocking on his front porch. There will never be another Joe Brown, and we all, his family, thank him for all he did for us. He loved us and we loved him.
