Kathryn "Kate" Angell Mitchell, 88, passed away peacefully on April 6,2024 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Kate was born on January 20, 1936, to
Annie Mae and Benjamin Bourquin Angell in Oil City, Louisiana.
Kate had many careers throughout her life including bookkeeper, real estate agent, and day care owner. She was a long-time member of the Ida
Baptist Church in Ida, Louisiana, where she enjoyed worshiping the Lord and singing old hymns. In her free time, Kate enjoyed traveling, working
jig-saw puzzles, a good box of wine, and her most favorite hobby was collecting elephants.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Peggy Tate and Juanita Biddle; one brother, Eugene Angell; her daughter, Lisa Kay Taylor;
and her husband, Retired Lt. Col. Bert Mitchell.
Left to cherish Kate's memory are her 7 children; Bo Norton, Jo Jo Norton, Mike Norton, Jenny Norton, Jay Taylor (Stephanie), Robert Taylor (Mary), and Matt Taylor (Carrie); her honorary children, Chuck Norton, June Atkinson, Joey Warren, and April Warren; 16 grandchildren; 23 great
grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday April 13, 2024, at 3pm at the Ida Baptist Church, 18787 Virginia Avenue, Ida, Louisiana, 71044. A Fellowship will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations can be made in Kate's honor to the Endangered Ark Foundation Elephant Sanctuary at

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Old Brownlee Community Care and her friends, Kendall and Dorothy for the
love and care that they gave to Kate.
