Obituary

Jimmie Wayne Yarbrough was born on February 24, 1952 in Honey Grove, Texas. He gained his angel wings on February 27, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Jim served in the US Marine Corp from 1970 -1973 and Army National Guard from 1973 -1979. Upon discharge, Jim was employed by General Motors as a master electrician with the local UAW No. 361.
After his retirement, he worked for Swepco for a few more years until he decided to focus solely on independent electrical contracting. Jim was a member of the local VFW post, no. 5951, the American Legion post, no. 14, the American Legion 40 & 8, Fair Park Masonic Lodge no. 436, and the El Karuba shrine.
Jimmie was proceeded in death by his parents, Golden and Myrtle Yarbrough, and by an older brother, Kenneth Yarbrough.
He leaves behind two daughters, Monica Aquino and husband Al, and Christal Childress and husband Joe. Two grandchildren: Michael Fulbright and Raelyn Childress. Brother and sisters: Bruce and wife Janell, Juanita, Alice and husband Danny, Patricia, and Sarah. A sister in law: Vicki. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
A memorial service in celebration of Jim's life will be held Sunday March, 5th, 2pm at The American Legion, 5315 South Lakeshore Dr in Shreveport. Please join the family in sharing memories of the Jim you knew.
