Jessica Jorden Farrington, a lifelong resident of Ivan, Louisiana, passed away on May 7, 2026, at the age of 49.
Born on January 26, 1977, to Debbie Modisette Magee and William “Billy” Jorden, Jessica was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, and spent all her life in Ivan, Louisiana. She graduated from Plain Dealing Academy in 1995 before continuing her education at Southern Arkansas University, where she earned her Bachelor of Nursing degree. Jessica went on to become a dedicated and well-respected nurse for many years, caring deeply for her patients and serving others with compassion and strength.
Jessica was preceded in death by her father and best friend, William “Billy” Jorden; her grandparents, Johnnie Jorden and Dorothy Coile Jorden; and grandparents, Arthur Modisette and Barbara Hunter.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Rocky Farrington; her children, Cobi Brown and wife Kaitlyn, and Maycee Ruybal and husband Landon; bonus children, Ethan Farrington, Blaine Farrington, and Lakyn Farrington; and expecting granddaughter, Emery Claire Ruybal. She is also survived by her mother, Debbie Magee and husband Merv; her brother, Aaron Jorden and wife Brandy, along with their children, Case and Hays Jorden; as well as a host of other beloved family members and friends.
Jessica was a spitfire with a heart full of love. She had an unforgettable presence and a smile that left a mark on everyone she encountered. When she loved, she loved deeply, and when she believed in something, she pursued it passionately and with purpose. Above all titles and accomplishments, there was nothing she treasured more than being a mother. She was incredibly proud of her children and loved them more than anything in the world. Whether it was hauling her daughter to rodeos every weekend or cheering from the stands at any event her children were involved in, Jessica could always be found supporting the people she loved most.
In addition to her devotion to family, Jessica enjoyed fishing, relaxing at the beach, and taking pride in her flower beds. She cherished every moment spent with those she loved most.
Pallbearers will be Cobi Brown, Ethan Farrington, Blaine Farrington, Landon Ruybal, Dylan Farrington, and Briar Hays.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church of Ivan. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the service. Graveside services will follow at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church Cemetery.
In memory of Jessica, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Caring Cabin at First Baptist Church of Princeton, located at 1298 Princeton Road, Princeton, LA 71067.
