Obituary

Jerry Lynn "Snap" Gildon,74, of Vivian, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, surrounded by his daughter and the sweetest hospice nurses, Jamie and Eva.

Jerry was born on August 19, 1950, to Geneva and Norywel Gildon.  He was one of ten children.

He traveled all over the world doing pipeline construction work.  He lived in Bakersfield, California, and then to Conroe, Texas, stopping at every hole in the wall bar along the way.  There wasn't a "pearl snap" shirt he didn't like.  He was the life of the party until someone turned the jukebox from Merle Haggard or Waylon Jennings.

Jerry leaves behind two children, James Gildon (Michelle) and Mandi Burton (Travis) and two grandchildren, Aaron Gildon and Bennett McGhee.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Vivian Nursing Home for their care the past 15 years and a special thanks to Bristol Hospice for being so kind.

Jerry didn't want any "fuss" made over him and if you know him, you can hear him saying his wishes were to be 'thrown over the Red River Bridge'.  Our hearts are heavy, but we are glad he is at peace.
