Jerry Wayne Carter, Sr, age 63, went to be with the Lord on Septenber 26, 2017. He was born April 11, 1954 to James Frederick and Kathryn Carter. Jerry leaves a lasting legacy through the countless lives he has touched through his musical abilities.

Jerry was preceded in death  by his parents and sister Elaine Bowdish.

He is survived by his wife Denice; daughter Melisa and husband Tim Hyer; sons Jerry, Nick, and Aaron and fiance' Lydia; stepdaughters Kristi Spencer and Jennifer Sharbutt and husband Scott; grandchildren Hayden, Timothy, and Maddie; step-grandchildren Tyler and Spencer; brothers Terry Brown and Doug and wife Brenda; sister Kathy Evans; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Church of the Cross in Haughton, LA, with burial following in the Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday September  28, 2017 at the Church of the Cross.

Pallbearers will be Bud Christian, Mickey Gill, Bubba Hattaway, Mike Hattaway, Jimmy Holland, Robin Vosbury, Jimmy Webb and Mike webb.
