IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeffrey "Jeff"
Alan Mcelroy
October 22, 1957 – January 6, 2025
Jeffrey "Jeff" Alan McElroy entered eternal rest on January 6th, 2025 at age 67.
Jeffrey was born to Bruce and Sandra McElroy (Pekruhn) on October 22nd, 1957 in Steubenville, Ohio. In his youth he spent his time caring for and training horses.
Jeffrey met his wife, Renee McElroy (Calmbacher) in 1967 in Wheeling, West Virginia when they were both youngsters. Renee fondly remembers going on dates together in their youth to Hershey Park. They tied the knot twelve years later on October 13th, 1979 and went on to have two children together, Samantha and Sandra. In 1990, they moved their family to Bossier, Louisiana.
Jeffrey had a daughter previous to his marriage with Renee, Jennie, although he wasn't an active part of her life, he kept her in his thoughts and prayers and loved her very much.
He joined the army on January 6th, 1975 in Cleveland, Ohio. Jeffrey served until being honorably discharged on September 27th, 1976 at the rank of SP4. His wife Renee can also recall him working for a railroad company and being a former deputy sheriff.
He held an unwavering faith in God and made the effort to attend church services when able.
Jeffrey joins his mother Sandra, father Bruce, along with his two brothers Larry and Bud in Heaven.
He is survived by his wife Renee McElroy (Calmbacher) and many loving family members, such as his sister, Penny McElroy Nix who misses and loved him dearly, niece Savanah Weller and his children, Samantha Smith, Sandra Sanders, and Jennie Teston. He is outlived by his grandchildren, Ty McElroy, Truman Sanders, Angel Smith, Jordyn Smith, Trenton Hines, Zack Britt, Logan Britt, Kylee Britt, and his great grandchildren, Elaina Britt, Chandler Britt, Amelia Britt, Daisie Britt, and Elliot King. He also leaves behind his nephews Lawrence Louis McElroy and Matthew Scott McElroy and their children Cole, Jacob and Maggie McElroy.
It's truly a saddening moment when someone who gave you such good memories becomes a memory themselves. Jeffrey Alan McElroy will undoubtedly be missed deeply and dearly by those in his family and community.
