J.E. Rowell, 89 years of age, departed this earth on December 16, 2022, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

He was born to Theodore and Obera Rowell in Calvin, Louisiana, on November 22, 1933, and was preceded in death by his father, his mother, two sisters (Elsie and May), three brothers (A.D., Gerald, and Glynn), son-in-law Charles "Buster" Morris, and son-in-law Marty McGuffie.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 66 years, Joann; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Sue Rowell; daughter, Debbie Morris; granddaughter, Jeannie McCurry, and husband, Randy; grandson, Marty McGuffie; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.  J.E. was a man of great faith who loved his family above everything, and he will be dearly missed by everyone lucky enough to know him.

J.E. was the founder of Rowell Builders and was a master carpenter until his retirement; he took great pride in building some of the area's finest homes.  He was a wonderful husband, father, mentor, friend, and neighbor who always offered a helping hand and a kind, encouraging word when they were needed most.  He was an enthusiastic outdoorsman who loved visiting the family camp on Saline Lake, where he and his family and friends would deer hunt and fish regularly.
