Obituary

Janette Lynn Irvin (Meme), age 66, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on July 8 th , 2016, after a long battle with cancer.

The funeral service will be held at 5pm July 14 th , 2016 at Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Jarrod Pelligrin officiating.

Janette was born May 9, 1950 to Robert and Gaynell Rowell in Shreveport, Louisiana. Janette was married to her loving and devoted husband, Edgar Layne Irvin, on March 10, 1967; they were married for forty-nine years. Janette worked as a caregiver for Evergreen services for 22 years, and a receptionist for Conco Foods for 12 years. She enjoyed activities such as fishing, cross stitching, shopping, and Bunco. She was actively involved in her church and enjoyed spending quality time with her family.

Janette is survived by her husband, Edgar Layne Irvin. Brother Bobby Rowell and sister Lanell Jordan and husband Billy of Winnfield, Louisiana, half-sister Debrah Sanders and husband Randy of Longview, Texas. Janette's children include Aubrey Irvin and wife Terri of Princeton, Louisiana, Crystal McClain and husband Barry of Shreveport, Louisiana. Grandchildren April Gates Hinkie and husband Tom of Haughton, Louisiana. Jeremy Gates and wife Tchanee of Fulton, Texas. Tara Irvin of Princeton, Louisiana. Kandace Hudson and husband Benny Phennel of Princeton, Texas. Jeffrey McClain and Jonathan McClain of Shreveport, Louisiana, Codi McClain Watson and husband Dillon of Shreveport, Louisiana. Great Grandchildren include Cayden and Bryson Hinkie of Haughton, Louisiana, Gracie and Sawyer Gates of Fulton, Texas, Bentley Christensen and Carter Watson of Shreveport, Louisiana. Bryson, Hudson, Kali, Tristen, Willow, and Jesse of Princeton, Texas, as well as many other beloved family and friends.

Janette is preceded in death by her parents Robert Rowell and Gaynell Rowell Jordon.

In lieu of flowers, Janette wanted all memorial donations to be given to Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church. The family of Janette Lynn Irvin wishes to thank Aulds Funeral Home and Hospice of Louisiana for their caring and support.
