James Brandon Roy, December 6, 1956 – August 3, 2022

Brandon was lovingly welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.  He is survived and endlessly missed by his wife, Laurie, daughter Lauren and husband Josh, his two grandchildren, Grant and Drake, twin brother Bryan and wife Lori along with their sons Barrett (fiancé Morgan and son Graham) and Blake (wife Katie and daughter Mason), and eldest brother Mark. He was preceded in death by his parents, whom he revered, Charles and Doris Roy.

Brandon and Laurie were childhood sweethearts, married for almost 42 years and together for 50.  Their daughter was born in 1987. She was and will always be "daddy's girl" and was immensely loved and adored by her dad. He was "Pops" to his adoring grandsons and loved spending time with them.  He retired from a career in accounting in 2019.  He was happiest enjoying the leisure of everyday life. He and Laurie loved to travel and simply be together.  His greatest desire was to tend to the needs of others in all his actions. He was the most kind, patient, and gentle man and would do anything for anyone. He was a rare and true example of the love of Jesus.

A memorial will be held at Ford Park Baptist Church, Sunday August 7, from 3-5PM, with visitation from 3-4PM followed by a celebration of life in Brandon's honor.  In lieu of flowers, his family requests contributions to the American Heart Association in Shreveport or the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana in Shreveport.
