Shreveport, LA - On Monday, April 8, 2013, after a long illness, James L. Robertson, Jr. passed away peacefully in God's presence. He was at home with his wife Betty and daughter Diane when he was set free. Jim was born on August 13, 1941 in Union, SC and he was preceded in death by his parents, James L. Robertson, Sr. and Betty Robertson and was their only child. Jim was active in the Kairos Prison Ministry and a Volunteer for Schumpert Hospice Precious Moments for Children. He was active in church, had a strong faith and tried to be an example for all. He loved fishing, gardening and especially cooking and frequently he and Betty would be seen on the dance floor at various functions held by the ballroom dance clubs in which they were members. He retired from AT&T with over 30 years of service. Above all, Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Betty Robertson; daughters: Diane Robertson-Dawson, Laura Anne Lewis and her husband Major Karl Lewis; grandchildren/great granddaughters: Nicole Sharp, her husband Keith Sharp, their daughters Autumn and Madison; James L. Dawson, his daughter Mikayla, Andrew Dawson, II, Isaac Murray and Bryce McLeod. The family will like to express their gratitude to all the friends and neighbors who were so supportive during this difficult time. The family would also like to express sincere appreciation to Dr. Dan Moller and his staff for caring for our family for so many years and walking this difficult path and showing such compassion for Jim and the family and providing exceptional care and compassion to us all.
