Obituary

Our beloved James Edward Myatt was called to the Lord on August 17, 2018 after a brief illness. He was born in Nashville, TN on April 4, 1937 to Woodrow and Johnnie Myatt. James and his family moved to Oak Ridge, TN when he was in high school. He met his high school sweetheart, Betty Underwood and they were married in 1955. They were married for 63 great years! They moved to Chicago, and Des Plaines, Illinois. Afterwards, they moved to Shreveport to be near to their family. They had a store, Myatt's Stop and Go on Lakeshore Drive. James also worked at Weingarten, Price Lo, and Realty Executives. They have met many wonderful people wherever they lived!

He loved to fish, especially with friends and family! He also loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren! He has eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Most of all he loved the Lord! He will be missed dearly! It is a great comfort to know we will meet again!

James' parents, sister Mary Carolyn, brother Richard Myatt have already gone to be with the Lord!

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Underwood Myatt; daughter Karen Fisher (Kevin); sons John Myatt (Alana) and Jeffery Myatt; Grandchildren Keith Wolf (Devon), Kristopher Wolf (Jaclyn), Kyle Wolf, James Heath Myatt (Jana),Tanner Myatt,  Amy Palisano (Kristopher), Amber Myatt, James "Tony" Myatt. Great Grandchildren Kamryn Wolf, Kaedon Wolf, Cody Wolf, Alex Wolf, Jacob Wolf, Isabella Wolf, Hollin Myatt, Cambrie Myatt; brothers Kenny Myatt (Kathy) and Ronald Myatt (Barbara); sister Peggy Nash (Phil); sister-in-law Trina Myatt; nieces and nephews Valarie, Troy, Jared, Joey, Carol, David, Robbie, Kyle Kristopher, Matthew, Sunny, Weston, Sandra; grandnieces Ruby Lee, and Karly. He also had a cousin Nancy that was like a sister to him; friends Karl Wolf and Patricia Myatt. Also surviving are many cousins and beloved family members.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Aulds Funeral Home in Shreveport with a visitation beginning at 12pm with Bro. Wyland Cloud from Magnolia Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
