James Dunlop Moncure, Jr., 92, died peacefully September 28, 2016 at the North West Louisiana War Veterans Home. Veteran and POW, Jim was born on December 10th, 1923. Military service and burial will be October 5th, at 2:00 pm in the N.W. Veterans Cemetary in Keithville, La.

Jim earned a B.S. in Business from the University of Arkansas. His business career was in management and sales of metal and plastic door frames and builders hardware, both here and in Houston. Upon retirement, he returned to Shreveport and enjoyed working in his yard with his plants and flowers. Jim is survived by his wife, Patricia Diane of 63 years, daughters Merrill Armstrong and husband Tom, Cheryl Moncure and granddaughter Nicole Donaldson, brother Tom Moncure, Nephew Steven Moncure and wife Tracy. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Mac Moncure, and sister-in-law Alice. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at the War Veterans Home and to Christus Hospice for their compassionate care.
