James passed away on August 11th, 2016 at home with his family.

He was a retired Air Force veteran of 23 years and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather for most of his life. His early years included racing motocross and fixing anything mechanical that he came across. Many of the cars owned by different members of the family were the result of hours spent working on them with Dad, customizing and repairing and just spending those hours together. He loved spending time with his grandkids, building models of airplanes and motorcycles, spending a quiet afternoon fishing and always listening to whatever story needed to be shared at the time. He was patient and kind and willing to teach anything he knew to anyone that asked. He never turned his back on anyone that needed him and he always put everybody else first.

James and Carolyn married and raised their family together over 45 years, always supporting each other and their children no matter what.

Preceded in death by his wife Carolyn McKinney.

Survived by three sons, Charles, Christopher and Carlton, two daughters-in-law, Tammy and Michelle, five grandchildren and a great granddaughter. He also leaves behind many loving friends and extended family.
