James Johnson was born on July 23, 1946, to Eddie and Ethel Johnson in Shreveport, La. James was a wonderful father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather, survived in death by his wife of 24 years, Lynnette Johnson, four children, Geraldine Johnson, James Johnson Jr., Jamie Johnson, and Jacob Johnson, and sister Sarah Mae Johnson. James was a loved member of the community of Princeton, La., leaving many dear friends and family members in his memory.

James was born in Shreveport, lived a simple life before joining the army at age 18, and fighting in Vietnam. He retired as a Seargent with Purple Heart Honors before settling down back in his hometown of Princeton and creating his family. He retired from his work at East Highland Mobile Home Park, but continued to help anyone who needed him in his community.
James passed in his home on September 3rd, 2023, at age 77.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
