He also worked for Western Electric for 16 years.
Cordell married the love of his life Pamra (Pam) Lee on December 7, 1995 by Pastor Rodney Durón ( which was his wife Francis wedding date also). It was a day to remember! Two of Cordell's sons hid in the back of the van as Pam and Cordell drove away from the church and they had to turn around and bring them back. Cordell always called Pam his "Princess" and he was her "Prince". Their love for each other was a strong bond and a great friendship with respect. He always said he would be her rock and he was!
Cordell had three sons when he started dating Pam. They were ages 3,4 and 9. He told Pam this is a package deal. Son's Jeremy Cordell Houston, Russell Drake Houston and Dustin Keith Houston. Cordell loved his boys and was always there for them in life when they needed help and he freely offered his advice. Cordell coached not only his sons in baseball but many other boys. He was always fun, loving and had a spunk for living life. He was also President of BMX Bike racing when Jeremy was young. Cordell always had a heart to help others who had a need and never wanted recognition for doing it.
Cordell loved to watch LSU football and celebrate with family and friends at home. Holidays were always exciting and fun.
Cordell and Pam sang in the choir at church together years ago but most precious was the last few years praying together at home seeing God do miracles when they prayed together.
Cordell is survived by his Loving Mother Lydia w. Houston, Hopkins Pickett. He would always say she is an angel. Tommy Cordell Houston (8) was his only grandson. He was the apple of his eye. Granddaddy would light up when Tommy was coming to see him and spend the night.
Many nieces and nephews cousins and friends are left to cherish his memories. He will be deeply missed forever. " The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit".
