James Franklin Williams, age 80, of Shreveport, LA, died on Tuesday, July 14, 2009, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 3715 Youree Drive, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Ken Irby assisted by Rev. Conrad Edwards with interment to follow at Forest Park-St. Vincents Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, LA. Mr. Williams graduated from C.E. Byrd High School and Louisiana State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He then served with the United States Army Corp of Engineers. He married Imogene Brown on July 31, 1954, and became an active member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church, his Sunday School there, and the Methodist Men's' Group. He was also an avid recycler. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Imogene Wiliams, son David Williams, grand-daughter Clarissa Williams and her mother Linda Asszony, grand-daughter Kimberly Friday and her daughter Madison, and step-grandson Nolan Asszony. He is also survived by his sisters Patricia Barron, Sally Primeaux. and Betty Elston and husband Allen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
