Obituary

James Edward "Eddie" Stevenson, born on October 16, 1962, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, April 30, 2024, after a lengthy illness.

A memorial service to celebrate Eddie's life will be held in the chapel of Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana, on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 3:00 pm with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm.

Eddie graduated from Parkway High School in Bossier City, Louisiana in 1980 and was a proud life-long resident of Bossier City.  Eddie worked for ML Bath Company for many years before becoming a self-taught handyman. He loved his work and customers respected him for the care he gave his projects.  Eddie spent many happy days in the woods hunting with his son and spending time with his best friend, Bill Lee and all his hunting buddies at the deer lease.

Eddie had the opportunity to volunteer with the Barksdale Wounded Warriors Association on numerous events.  Being part of the hunting and fishing events gave him and the wounded warriors therapeutic comradery, fellowship, and enjoyment of the outdoors.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Lea Ann McCarty Stevenson of Bossier City; his parents, James Louis Stevenson of Benton and Patricia Robison Stevenson of Bossier City; son, Colton Stevenson of Los Angeles, California; daughter, Savannah Stevenson of Shreveport and daughter, Eliana (Papa's Little Angel); step-daughter, Ashlee Broome and son Ethan; step-son, Justin Wicker and wife, Elizabeth and son Taylor; brother, Mike Stevenson and wife, Theresa and children, Jon Michael and Mallory of Bossier City; sister, Vicki Spann and husband, Adam and son Brooks of Benton, Louisiana.

The family wants to thank the dedicated staff of Green Meadow Haven in Coushatta, as well as Laura and "T" with Bristol Hospice, Jennifer Stewart, NP, Dr. Ray Smith, and Dr. Gavin Chico.  His family will forever be grateful for the kindness and compassion provided to Eddie.

The family suggests memorials be made in Eddie's honor to Barksdale Wounded Warriors Association, 1695 Bellevue Road, Haughton, LA  71037.
