James A. Corbin Jr., 71, passed away on January 23, 2026, following a year-long battle with health challenges. He is now at rest and free from pain.James most recently resided in Converse, Louisiana. He previously made his home in Wasilla, Alaska, and North Pole, Alaska, places that held many meaningful chapters of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. Corbin and Patricia F. Corbin.James is survived by his loving family, including his siblings: David Corbin and wife Lisa of Kerrville, Texas, and Denise Taylor and husband Larry of Panama City, Florida. 

He leaves behind his children: Nicole Maxwell and husband James A. Maxwell of Hermiston, Oregon, and James A. Corbin III of Bonanza, Oregon.He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Cassidy Corbin of Wasilla, Alaska; Crystal Swingle and husband Zach of Klamath Falls, Oregon; one granddaughter of Wasilla, Alaska; James C. Maxwell and wife Ericka of Hermiston, Oregon; Matthew Corbin of Colorado; and Morgyn Maxwell of Hermiston, Oregon. James was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Parker Swingle and Davis Swingle, both of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and one great-grandson of Wasilla, Alaska.In addition to his immediate family, James is remembered fondly by many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Funeral services will be conducted by Auld’s Funeral Home in Shreveport, Louisiana.
