Shreveport, Louisiana - James Williamson Byrd passed away on Saturday, May 20th, 2017, after a short illness. He has lived in Shreveport for the last 20 years, previously living in California and New York. James is survived by his loving son David of Austin, Texas. He acted and was involved in television commercials. He was employed by Columbia Studios. He was a writer and poet. After moving back to Shreveport, Jim was involved in ministry at CCI and the Salvation Army. He lived a full and interesting life.
Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday May 23, 2017 at the Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road with Reverend Denny Duron officiating. All who knew and loved Jim are invited to attend. He loved God with all his heart and had a passion for helping others.
