James Howard Bonnette was born March 27, 1956 to Mr. and Mrs. Howard Lee Bonnette in Natchitoches, Louisiana and passed away peacefully on January 30, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer.  He was surrounded by family and friends in the hours preceding his death.

James was preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Rilee Kae Bonnette.  He is survived by wife, Belinda Bonnette, sons Rodney and Brian Bonnette, daughter, Melissa France, grandchildren, Alex, Kaitlyn, Katie, Natalie, Emily, Bruce, Victoria, and great-grandchildren, Eli, Ava, Maya, and Noah.  Sisters Charlotte Nix, husband Randy of Jacksonville, Fl.  Susan Beach, Kingsport, TN and Timothy Bonnette, wife Mary of Flint, TX.

James was a resident of Blanchard, Louisiana and a retired Lieutenant with the Caddo Sheriff's Office for 32 years.  During his career he served as a search and recovery diver and a member of the marine patrol for the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office.  His passion for scuba diving, drove him to become an instructor so he could share that passion with others.  An avid boater he enjoyed sailing and offshore fishing with family and friends.   He loved meeting new people and helping others.

The family will have a Memorial Service celebrating the life of James on February 26, 2024.  Visitation from 4-6 followed by service at 6:00 at First Baptist Church Blanchard.
