Jacqueline "Jackie" Marie Ruth Halvorson, 75, widow of Gary Halvorson, died on August 1, 2025, at CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center, under the care of CHRISTUS Hospice Shreveport-Bossier.

She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of Marie Nunnery Mitchell and Daniel Mitchell, and relocated to Shreveport, Louisiana, in 2004. She was a devout Christian and a US Air Force veteran from 1969 to 1972.

Jackie was known for her generous spirit, loving personality, and for being a reliable person when you needed her. She enjoyed watching movies, reading her Bible, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie Mitchell and Lily Jenkins Medaries, and her husband, Chas; a sister, Marcia Ward; numerous nieces and nephews; and five grandchildren: Maryé Coburn, Abigail Lucas, Christopher Lucas, Shannon Medaries, and Elijah Hernandez.

A memorial service for Jackie's ashes will be held on August 25, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.
