Irene McCullough Myles, 88, passed away peacefully in Shreveport, LA on March 28, 2024. Irene was born in Hobbs, NM on July 25, 1935. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel A. McCullough and Loleta Beaird McCullough, and a son, Samuel A. Myles.

Irene graduated with degrees from Louisiana Seminary of New Orleans, LA and Louisiana Tech in Ruston, LA. Irene enjoyed her long career teaching at Louisiana Tech in the English Department, retiring in 1998. While teaching at Louisiana Tech she enjoyed travels to Rome with Tech and two trips to Xi'an, China in 1984 and 1998 teaching English to Chinese college students.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dewey T. Myles, Jr. and Loleta Holley. Sister Dorothy M. McMaster and many cousins. "Myrene" to her grandkids, Sam Myles (Sabrina), Nicholas Myles (Scianna) and Taylor Lanning (Jana). Great grands, Lizzie, Sam, Ellie, and Eva. Three more girls on the way. Baby Myles to Nicholas and Scianna and twins Lanning to Taylor and Jana.

Special love and appreciation to her daughter and son-in-law, Brad Holley, for their years of care and devotion during her extended illness.

Private graveside for family was held with a celebration of life to be scheduled in the future.
