Hurshiell Douglas Stegall, age 42, passed away on January 20, 2024. He was born on October 29, 1981, in Shreveport to Hurshiell Dean Stegall and Carol Rogers Stegall. He graduated from Louisiana College of Pineville. The loss of Douglas Stegall, Doug or Dougie to those who were closest to him, has saddened everyone. As we navigate this time without him, we can find comfort in the fact that he is able to rejoice in Heaven with his family and friends who met him with open arms at the golden gate. This is a kind of grief none of us expected. He was so kindhearted and full of laughter. As you may know, Doug, loved and enjoyed every moment he got to spend with his family and friends. Everyone who knew Doug was able to witness his jokes that would make you laugh until your belly hurt. Doug grew up with the love of football in his veins. From very young he knew football was his God given talent. Over the years he has made a lasting impression in every child's life that he has been able to mentor, alongside his father, on and off the field. I admire the way he lived and loved. Please be in prayer for the family members who have lost a vital part of their lives. God Bless.

Douglas was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Johnny Cecil Rogers and Mildred Yvonne Rogers, and paternal grandparents Hurshiell Stegall and Elsie Louise Stegall.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents Hurshiell Dean Stegall and Carol Stegall; brother Shane Stegall (Christi), sister Dana Stegall, brother Christopher Stegall (Jae); nieces Kristen Stegall and Gracie Stegall; nephew Austin Stegall, and special Aunt Kayla Nealy.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 6-8pm at Aulds Funeral Home in Shreveport. A graveside service will be held at 3pm Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the Old Castor Cemetery in Castor, Louisiana.
