Gene went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Saturday, June 7, 2008, after a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be held 10:30, Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Rose-Neath Cemetery on Swan Lake Road off Airline Drive in Bossier City. The Rev. Murray Hodge will officiate. Gene was a member of I.B.E.W. Local #194 and a member of U.A.W and retired After 22 years at General Motors. He was well know at General Motors as "Papaw." Gene was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Louise Sanders, two brothers; Terry and Jerry Sanders, two sisters Janice Sanders and Janelle Hudson. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Emily (Bean) Sanders; one sister, Pat Rouch and husband, Jimmy, three daughters; Jeannie Sanders, Kitty Winderweedle and husband, Frank and Sheri Bounds, all of Shreveport. Also, by six grandchildren, Shannon, Jennifer, Amy, Nicholas, Amie and Robbie, six great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a lot of friends. Family requests that memorials be made to any Shreveport or Bossier Hospice, however, flowers may be delivered to Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway prior to 9am on Wednesday.
