Horace Wayne Ashley, Sr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 7, 2023 after a lengthy illness.

A celebration of life will be held at Riverpark Church, 3232 E. 70th Street, Shreveport, LA on October 19, 2023 at 11:00am. A visitation will be held October 19, 2023 at 10:00am. Officiating the service will be Pastor Ransom Ashley.

Horace was born on November 11, 1937 in Big Spring, TX to Edith and Ransom Euell Ashley. He graduated from Haynesville High School in 1956. After moving to Shreveport, Horace worked at Sears Repair Center as a small appliance repairman. He later worked at Chevyland as a mechanic until 1971 when he decided to go into business for himself. Horace owned and operated Ashley's Automotive from 1971 until his retirement in 1981 when his sons, Wayne and Ransom assumed ownership and continued to operate the family business.

Horace was preceded in death by his parents, Ransom Euell and Edith Ashley, his brothers, Ronald Earl and Carroll Stephen Ashley, his sisters, Glenda Colvin and Edith Arden Bowlin.

Horace is survived by his children, Horace Wayne Ashley, Jr. and wife Suzi, Ransom Ashley and wife Teri, Andrea Swenson and husband Alan and Angela Butler and husband Rick, ten grandchildren; Richard, Tiffany, Anthony, Alyssa, Jeremy, Ashley, Laura, Kristen, Ransom Cade and Cole, thirteen great grandchildren; Colton, Carson, Cooper, Josiah, Addison, Grayson, Eva, Levi, Lake, Dux, Brayden, Sophie and Brody along with numerous nieces and nephews. Also left to cherish his memory is a very special friend Vann Rim Ly.

The family wishes to thank the ER and ICU staff at WK South and the wonderful staff at The Carpenter House for their loving care of our father.

Until we meet again, we love and miss you dearly Daddy, Papaw, Uncle and friend.
