IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Herron Clayton
Etue
October 22, 1936 – March 12, 2026
Herron Clayton Etue, lovingly known to family and friends as Clayton, fell asleep in death on March 12, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana, at the age of 89. He was born in McGehee, Arkansas, and was originally from Center, Texas.
Clayton was well known for his work as a skilled welder and for the pride he took in working with his hands. He was a baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witness on December 25th 1975, he loved sharing and teaching others about his faith. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, and friend who deeply cherished his family.
Clayton shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara Etue. Together they built a large and loving family. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Tammera, Jeanetta, Allen, Carl, Richard, Ronny, Jimmy, Joshua, Cassie, Baylee, Chloe, and Maxallin; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Clayton was known for his kind heart and generous spirit. He was the kind of man who would do anything to help someone in need. Despite his small stature, he had a big personality and an even bigger sense of humor. Barbara lovingly described him as mischievous, as he was always cracking jokes or making goofy faces to make those around him laugh. His warmth, humor, and love for his family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family takes comfort in the Bible’s promise found at John 5:28–29, which speaks of a time when “all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out,” giving the hope of seeing Clayton again.
A memorial is being held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5597 Shreveport Blanchard Hwy Shreveport, La 71107, at 2pm on Saturday March 21st, 2026.
