Shreveport LA – A memorial service celebrating the life of Helen Somers Ewing will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15, in Frost Chapel of First Baptist Church, Shreveport. Officiating will be Ronney Joe Webb. The family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m. in the parlor.

Helen was born December 22, 1927 in Hope, Arkansas to W.T. and Lila Somers. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 7, 2018.

Mrs. Ewing was a long time member of First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Women's Department Club and the Pelican Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Preceding her in death were her parents, seven siblings, and husband, John Edward Ewing.

Helen is survived by her three daughters: Marihelen Ligon and husband Tracy of Ft. Worth, Texas; Johnette Jameson and husband Wesley of Duncanville, Texas; Leslie Espinosa and husband Raul of Spring Branch, Texas. In addition she is survived by 5 grandchildren: Raul, Andrew, and David Espinosa, Leslie Caudle, and Lauren Jameson; and 5 great grandchildren.
