Hazel Coburn Crist, 83, was born on June 17, 1940, in Wadley, Georgia to Grandpa Steve Meeks and Madie Meeks.  She passed away on November 11, 2023, following a lengthy illness.

Hazel was preceded in death by her two sons, Shawn and Andy Pierce, and her sister, Eloise Brightwell, and husband Phil Crist.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Wendy McLendon and husband, Travis; sisters, Jan McArthor and Rosa Read; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Hazel enjoyed collecting anything Coca-Cola for many years.  She loved working in her yard, dancing on the porch, going on trips, but most of all she loved spending time with family and friends.  Her philosophy was...the more, the merrier!  Her door was always open for someone to stop by for a few laughs while hanging out with her on the porch.  This is what she considered a good time!  Hazel always had a smile and a hug for everyone, even a total stranger.

Hazel was a momma and friend to many people and will be missed so much.  We know she is in Heaven, with her wings, being an angel just like she was on this Earth.  We take great comfort in knowing that we will see her again someday!

A memorial service, honoring Hazel, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71115.
