Obituary

Harry Alan Schad, 72, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. Born on February 20, 1953, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Harry spent his early years there, graduating from Memorial High School in 1971.

Harry lived a life filled with a love of music, laughter, and the joy of being near the water. His very first concert was Jimi Hendrix, sparking a lifelong passion for everything from classic rock and blues to Jimmy Buffett. He amassed an extensive album collection and loved sharing his favorites with family and friends. Growing up, Harry spent countless days at Grand Lake of the Cherokees, where his father, Harry Erwin Schad, taught him to fish and water ski. Those traditions became an essential part of Harry's upbringing, and he proudly passed them on to his own children on the same lake. A true outdoorsman, Harry fished anywhere he could—whether on lakes, in the gulf, or even on unforgettable trips to Alaska.

For more than 30 years, Harry worked in the oil supply industry before later joining a courier company, where he continued to build relationships in the way only he could. He truly never met a stranger. Standing 6'4", with legs that never quite fit the bed and kind blue eyes that carried a mischievous twinkle, Harry was known for his warm presence, his calm nature, and his patient, intentional way of moving through life.

He was also a master in the kitchen and at the grill, able to cook anything to perfection. His family and friends will always remember the meals he crafted, the jokes he told, and the smile he wore so easily. He adored his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and joy. Harry loved traveling—especially if it meant time on the water—and he cherished the adventures he shared with his fiancée, Loretta Green.

Harry was a lifelong fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys, and fittingly, both teams won on the weekend before he passed. It definitely made him smile.

Harry is survived by his fiancée, Loretta Green; his daughter, Tara Falls, her husband Chase Falls, and their five children—Saebyn, Spencer, Skylar, Tommy, and Sasha—and his

great-grandson, Grayson; his son, Michael Schad, his wife Heather, and their daughter Brooklyn; and his sister, Marilyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Erwin Schad and Francis Louise Bailey Schad, and his siblings Greg and Susan.

Harry lived with an open heart, a sense of adventure, and a gentle steadiness that made those around him feel loved and cared for. He will be missed beyond measure by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

A memorial service to honor Harry's life will be held on December 6th at 2:00 p.m. at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana 71115.
