Hannah Nicole Shafer, at the age of 26, entered into rest on May 24, 2016, in DeLand, Florida. She lost her battle with depression and addiction after quite a fight. She was born on August 18, 1989, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She soon moved to West Columbia, Texas, where she lived for 10 years. In 1999, she then moved to DeLand, Florida. Hannah was homeschooled and graduated with the FPEA in May, 2006. She was an animal lover from the very beginning. Her first word was not "mama or dada" but"Sissy" who was the family dog. She continued to be a part of many animal-related activities. She thoroughly enjoyed her equestrian events including: showing English and Western, jumping, drill team competitions, barrels, poles, trails, and other horse-related games. Along with her horses, dogs, cats, reptiles, and tarantula; she enjoyed her time with family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Jim and Annette Shafer, her brother, Chas and his wife Megan; caring grandparents, special aunts and uncles, amazing cousins, and wonderful friends.
A "Celebration of Life" Service for Hannah will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016, at 2-4pm hosted by Auld's Funeral Home in Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Pastor Micheal Schmidt and Rev.
