Glenn Willard Smith, 71, passed away peacefully on April 8th in Bossier City, Louisiana. He was born to Dan and Merlyn Smith on February 11, 1953 in Abilene, Texas. Glenn grew up in Monroe and the family moved to Shreveport where they have remained.  Glenn graduated from Southwood High School in 1971.  He had a lifelong love for music and played Bass with many musicians in and around Shreveport as well as Germany where he was stationed in the United States Air Force where he trained as a Communications Equipment Specialist. Glenn returned to Shreveport and played music in Wichita Falls, Texas, Shreveport, Louisiana, and Birmingham, Alabama.  He often performed in church and was baptized in 1964 at First Baptist Church of Hurst, Texas.  He also loved fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his father Dan A. Smith. He is survived by daughter Amber McPherson, husband Jerry, and granddaughter Maddie of Gun Barrel, Texas. His mother Merlyn George Smith, sister Elaine Smith, brother Galen and girlfriend Yvonne, and brother Darryl and wife Jeanette along with numerous nieces and nephews.
