Glen Edward Gandy, born in Escondido, California and lived in Doyline, Louisiana, passed away on February 1, 2022 at the age of 57. Glen was surrounded by his family and friends under hospice care in the comfort of his own residence.
Glen was born on March 5, 1964 in California to his parents; Camilla Billings Gandy and Robert Aleck Gandy Sr. He decided to enlist in the Armed Services, specifically in the Navy. While in the Navy, he became a certified corpsman. He ended up being stationed in North Carolina, where he met the love of his life, Pamela Lawrence. They finally decided to wed on May 2, 1998 after being together for twelve years. He dedicated his life to learning the trade of HVAC and was a mentor to many wanting to learn the trade. He worked for many years at Air Ref in Shreveport, LA and was respected all around in the field. He was known as a hard worker who loved to help those around him. His large family often would deem him "King of the grill."
He is preceded in death by his wife Pamela Lawrence Gandy, father, Robert A. Gandy Sr, brother, Robert A. Gandy Jr., and many family members who he has now joined in Heaven.
He is survived by his daughter. Virginia Nicole Lawrence of Doyline, LA; mother; Camilla Billings Gandy of Doyline, LA; sister Elizabeth Baronette of Pearland Texas; Steven Wayne Gandy of Doyline, LA; Grover Leon Gandy of Haughton, LA; Shirley Martin of Pearland Texas, Phyllis Brawley of Doyline, LA; and Larry H Gandy of Doyline, LA. Glen Gandy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and a plethora of friends.
Visitation will begin at 1 pm on Saturday, February 5 at Doyline United Methodist Church and a celebration of Glen's life will follow the visitation at 2 pm. Officiating will be Montie Dobbins. All friends and family are invited to join in his remembrance. The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice of Shreveport, LA, especially nurses Ruthie Starkey and B. The family would also like to thank Aulds Funeral home for assisting with all the arrangements. Internment will take place at Point Chapel Assembly of God in Doyline, LA where he can be buried with his wife.
