Gerry Dale Mullins, age 85, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born on April 25, 1941, to David Troy Mullins and Drucilla Kaufman Mullins. Gerry graduated from Fair Park High School where he enjoyed playing basketball and later attended/graduated from Northwestern State College in Natchitoches, Louisiana with a Master’s degree in Education and Counseling. Gerry met his college sweetheart, Nancy Elaine Dees, at Northwestern and they married December, 1963.
Gerry never met a stranger and was dedicated to helping others find success as regional manager for the Louisiana Department of Labor but most of all, he loved watching his children and grandchildren flourish and grow. He loved woodworking, tools and cars (with a special fondness for VW beetles). Gerry was well loved by all those who met him and he truly enjoyed being a funny character at random to bring a grin to everyone’s face. He was known as Uncle Monkey to some due to his humor.
He lived in Shreveport, Louisiana but also enjoyed living on Lake Bistineau with his pups and watching the local Bistineau raccoons and wildlife.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Dees Mullins, son, Gerry Dale Mullins, Jr and wife, Ana Oscos Mullins of Houston, Texas, daughter, Christina Mullins Bounds and husband Tab Bounds of Shreveport, Louisiana, granddaughter, Lindsey Bounds and grandsons, Gerry Dale Mullins III and Aaron Mullins and nieces Jessica Tate of Alabama and Carla Roberts of Oklahoma, nephews Don Mullins Jr of Texas and Mark Mullins of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Drucilla Mullins, brother, Donald Ray Mullins, and niece, Lannie Mullins.
