Gerry Garland, age 65, passed away after a lengthy illness in Shreveport, LA on Thursday, December 19, 2019. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 1:00 pm at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Shreveport, LA officiated by Father Mark Watson.

Gerry was born in Shreveport, LA in 1954. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elliece Garland, and sister Debbie Garland. He is survived by his brother Eric Garland and his wife Rene Garland, of Lafayette, LA, and Cathy Sanders, of Shreveport, LA, and Shay Richard and her husband Mike Richard, of Spring, TX, six nieces and nephews and 19 great nieces and nephews.

Although Gerry's time on Earth was full of suffering and difficulty, he never lost his faith and devotion to God and looked forward to his eternal life in Heaven.

Gerry was a life long LSU fan. He undoubtedly will now have the best view to cheer on his beloved Tigers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to  the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Shreveport, LA.
