Gerry was our Mother, but more importantly she was our Mom. Her family knew that we always had her unconditional love and support every day, because she told us...every day. We were so blessed that during our lifetime we knew that whatever problems or issues we were facing she would be there for us with advice, encouragement, or just a reassuring hug and kiss. Mom was a natural born caretaker. Her greatest joy and love in life was being "Gigi" to her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Her special type of love and care was always extended to everyone she met. She was a long-time member of Ford Park Baptist Church and remained active in many capacities there throughout her life. The many friendships and relationships she had were a testament to her love and devotion to all. Later in her life, she joined our Dad in the insurance business. Her and Deanne Robinson, whom she lovingly referred to as part of the family, helped keep Dad in line!
The family would like to thank the family of Mr. Leo Sandford for all the love and support they showed her in the last few years, and to Dr. James Jackson, for his care and wisdom.
She will be missed by her family and friends immensely. She would want all to keep the Christian faith, spread the Word, and continue to fight the good fight because the reward of being in the presence of Jesus, as she is now, is immeasurable, magnificent, and eternal.
A private memorial service will be held by her family.
