George Edward Hinton "Eddie/Papa" 67, went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2019 at home in Bethany, LA surrounded by family and friends. A private memorial service will be held on June 9, 2019 in Bethany, LA. A graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on June 29, 2019 at Old Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Hwy. 120, Marthaville, LA. Eddie was born in Shreveport, LA on March 31, 1952 to George and Lestereen Hinton. He lived in Shreveport and Bethany, LA most of his life and served in the Navy for four years. He was a carpet technician for many years after that until he retired to work part-time for Dollar General. Eddie loved his work very much. November 17, 1999 he married Mattie Lou Cole Copeland. They loved being with their family and friends and had many wonderful years together. Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Lou Copeland Hinton; his father, George O. Hinton;  his sister, Patricia Adams; his daughter, Mandy Bagwell. Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Lestereen Hinton; his sister, Linda Lewis; his brother, Chris Hinton; sons, Kirk Copeland and girlfriend Angie, Michael Copeland and girlfriend Linda; daughter, Jiel Copeland and fiancé Thomas; best friend/honorary daughter, Tina Washburn; grandchildren, Kelsi Hoffnung and husband Benjamin, Amber Jennings and husband Jacob, Derienne Copeland, John-Allen Copeland, Angel Copeland, Serah Vinson, Cody Murray, Dusty Foster, Cristal Cowan, Katie Russell; great-grandchildren, Walt Hoffnung, Brantley Jennings, Ariel Jennings, Amiyiah Foster, Elijah Foster, Leo Cowan, Carter Cowan, Jordan Dotie and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Pallbearers will be Kevin McClain, Michael Burnley, Donnie Broussard, Kane Saffel, Charlie Vanmoerkerque, Roy Cook, James Fallis and John Bayton.
