George Dwight Dean, a veteran of the United States Navy, passed away on January 13, 2025, at the age of 78 in Shreveport, Louisiana. George was born on April 20, 1947, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, the son of Lawson and Millie Dean. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Northwestern State University and served honorably in the United States Navy.

George is survived by his daughter Grace Goin; grandchildren Natalie Goin, Kyler Goin, and Hallie Hook; and sisters Betty Tarver and her spouse Bobby, Nancy Packard and her spouse Bernie, and Norma Prudhomme and her spouse Allen.

George will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his love for his family, and the cherished moments he created with those he loved. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at The Highland Club, 1711 Tulane Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71103, on January 25, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. A private ceremony for the interment of his ashes will be held afterward, as his daughter will bring him back home.
