Shreveport – A memorial service for Gary Glen Franklin, will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 E. Kings Highway, Shreveport, Louisiana.

Gary was born on August 29, 1956 to Dosier Francis Franklin and Louise Marie Dano Franklin in Shreveport, Louisiana, and passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 in Shreveport.

He graduated from Fair Park High School in 1974 and attended University of Louisiana at Monroe.  Gary was a carpenter and loved to work with his hands.  His favorite pastime was camping, and he loved the mountains. He was an avid reader and knew all about world history and geography.  No one could beat him at Jeopardy.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his son Neil Austin Franklin, and his brother Chuck.  He is survived by his son Jeremy Franklin and his sister Karen Peltier, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the exceptional staff at Heart of Hospice, Ochsner LSU Emergency Room, and The Carpenter House for the loving and caring treatment of Gary and his family during his last days.
